This piece reminds me of watching microorganisms drift across a surface—their forms shifting and morphing as new life emerges—much like peering into a petri dish under a microscope. I connect this to my own experiences of being examined because of my race, scrutinized by so many different people. And just as I’ve been studied, I’ve studied them in return. It’s in those minute details—subtle expressions, fleeting moments—where I find the truest insight into who someone is.
